Communication is perception

Never before in history has there been so many tools, equipment , techniques and channels available for communication. Yet, surprisingly, communication between people remains a huge problem.  Could it be that we are focussing more on technique, style, technology rather than people?                                     What constitutes communication? A communication has three components, the sender, the message and the receiver.  Unfortunately most teachers of management and communications focus primarily on the message and the sender. What to send and how to send it?  Be aggressive, seductive etc etc. they teach. There appears to be little focus on the receiver. Effective communication depends primarily on the recipient. If the recipient is unable or unwilling to listen then the message is lost if not rendered ineffective, just like the case of the tree crashing...

The nation which makes the best use of the sword will always subjugate the nation which has more gold and less courage.   ~ Voltaire India was known as the 'golden bird', 'land of milk and honey' and thousand other glorious names, because it was so prosperous. Prosperity bestows comfort. Excess comfort brings laziness which unfortunately erodes courage. This attracts predators. Predators bring destruction. Become Financially Intelligent or become a Slave.

One of my consulting clients recently asked me, "What is the leading cause of business failure or organisational collapse?  Research by many prestigious institutions like Dunn & Bradstreet show that the leading cause of organisational failure is bad cashflow management. Even hard work, sincerity, passion, talent, technology, great products, good markets etc. cannot save an organisation which has poor cashflow management. Sales is Vanity, Profit is Sanity, Cashflow is Vitality. __________________________________________________ What is cashflow?
