 In a damaged world, at the end of World War II, only two great powers remained standing, capitalist America and communist Soviet Union. Naturally they were rivals, and both sought to undermine the other in the pursuit of the goal of becoming and remaining the sole superpower. The Americans came up with a proposal to the war devastated countries, that chose to follow America. The USA would support countries to rebuild their nations,  provide massive financing, technology, manpower and material resources. Totally open up the American market to these countries to freely sell their goods and services in America. The only condition was America would write and control their security policy and in turn America would guarantee their security. Even in democracies many elected officials unleash the harshest of reactions should they or their ideas be questioned, let alone criticised. The tragedy is after two world wars and loss of their colonies and reduced to 18% of the world, they still consider themselves as the rulers of the entire world except allies like Japan, Australia, Canada etc. Rulers consider themselves above the principles, laws and practices they themselves espouse for others to follow. The world stands on the brink of a World War.  The conflict in Ukraine is not even about Ukraine. It's about great power rivalry. The American led West against the Russian led powers of the East. Both groups dragging many other nations across the globe into seemingly an insane but in reality a sinister conflict. As a result the war is not just claiming lives and property as much as it is destroying souls and damaging humanity. Why is this happening?
