Awesome Bharat

On this Republic day of 26th January, let us all step back for a moment and admire some
awesome facts about a magnificient land. We the people have to listen to own hearts and
rediscover our greatness to build a better India and a better world

The challenges we face our immense and probably more than anywhere else in the world.
We are surrounded by an unruly, violent and dangerous Pakistan, a beligerent and
aggressive China and a ravaged Myanmar.

 Yet it is even more astounding that the most diverse nation on Earth, with hundreds of
languages, all religions and cultures, is not only surviving, but thriving.

Bharat the nation we know as India.
Land of spirituality, tolerance, compassion, diversity, wisdom and wealth,

  • where  Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism were born, which is the second largest Muslim nation on Earth;

  • where  Christianity has existed for 2000 years;

  • where  the oldest Jewish synagogues and Jewish communities have resided since the Romans burnt their 2nd temple;

  • where  the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile reside;

  • where  the Zoroastrians from Persia have thrived since being thrown out of their ancient homeland;

  • where  Armenians and Syrians and many others have come to live;

  • where  the Paris-based OECD said, was the largest economy on Earth for 1500 of the last 2000 years, including the 2nd  largest, only 200 years ago;

  • where  3 Muslim Presidents have been elected,

  • where  a Sikh is Prime Minister and the head of the ruling party a Catholic Italian woman,

  • where  the past President was also a woman, succeeding a Muslim President who as a rocket scientist is a hero in the nation;

  • where  a booming economy is lifting 40 million out of poverty each year and is expected to have the majority of its population in the middle class, equal to the entire US population, by 2025;

  • where  its optimism and vibrancy is manifested in its movies, arts, economic growth, and voting, despite all the incredible challenges and hardships;

  • where  all the great powers are vying for influence, as it itself finds its place in the world.

My countrymen and women, I congratulate you on this Republic  day. I send to you my
salutations and pray for your individual happiness and our collective success.

  2. Dear Rahul,

    Thanks for your kind words.
    Can you post your comments directly on the blog page so as to start a dialogue thread so others can join in?
    At the moment I am entering it under my name which is not really encouraging others because it looks like I am talking to myself.
    Talking to myself is actually quite helpful for me. However many people may not understand it as yet.

    Cheers

You have to play the game to win it.

In life its not sufficient to be merely efficient but to also be effective. Someone once asked my father Man Singh ji, 'What is the secret of your success?'  He remarked, "I do not always make right decisions. I make decisions, and then almost always make them right" Read more ..........

        F requently requested to assist organisations large and small, I observe a common and recurring theme.  The issues revolve around the struggle of owners /managers to manage effectively. This is visible predominantly in companies that have started small and are growing, in family run businesses and families themselves. They are invariably puzzled that management approach, style and methods which worked so well in the past, now just don't work anymore. They resort to even more hard work and effort, yet the situation only worsens. Finding themselves in unfamiliar situations they dart here and there implementing fads, half hearted strategies alien to their thinking and character. They do this because they are getting frustrated and doing something is considered better than doing nothing. They change staff and managers. They churn product mix, vendors and even customers and markets. They try so many things but nothing seems to work. They chang...
