Fear or Adventure?

Uncertainty is a Reality.
. Refusal to accept uncertainty, leads to fear.
Acceptance of uncertainty, leads to adventure.

Man is the only creature with an imagination. So he tries to peer into the future, plan outcomes in the hope of removing uncertainty. We are so intelligent that we usually fool even ourselves.

Astrologers, Political Pandits, Stock Market Analysts, Economists, etc. all make a living by crystal ball gazing and make pronouncements to placate our fears of uncertain outcomes.

The number of variables are so many that their guess is as good as anyone else. In any event whatever outcomes they project, naturally there is a 50% probability of it actually occurring, so the forecasters become believable. A slick and confident forecast which results in favourable  outcomes can often fetch handsome rewards, including fame and wealth.

Usually we can afford to be adventurous but not always.
Generally speaking there is great uncertainty when dealing with Humans but very little when dealing with genuine science which has to be analysed, understood, and evidenced.

Established Science like in the fields of engineering, medicine, technology etc.one cannot afford uncertainty.

A case in point,  medical mistakes kill over 252, 000 Americans each year. If they were a disease it would rank as the 3rd leading cause of death in the USA.

Living in the present while planning for the future offers happiness and peace of mind.
Our attitudes shape the quality of our lives.

How a Polish Potato Farmer prevented World War III

On 15 November 2022, a Ukrainian S-300 air defence missile struck a farm in the sleepy Polish village of Przewodów (population of 413) near the border with Ukraine and Belarus. NATO, the governments and media in the collective West immediately claimed it as an attack on Poland by Russia. Ukrainian President Zelensky and Polish president Andrzej Duda demanded an immediate emergency meeting to invoke article 5 of NATO's charter. This clause obliges NATO members to militarily support and join any country attacked by a non NATO country, in this case it was alleged to be Russia. When photographic and video images appeared on the internet posted by a local potato farmer on the site, it was clear to see that the wreckage which killed two farmers was a Soviet made S-300 air defence missile manufactured in early 1980s and currently being used by the Ukrainian forces. Some very disturbing questions arise, and demonstrates why Zelensky and his coterie and his Polish parters are so dangerous...
