  Generally speaking here are three types of individuals, organisations and countries. Those, who make things happen. Those, who watch things happen and Those, who wonder what happened. In the natural world, things seemingly happen by themselves We witness a natural order interspersed with natural chaos. In the world of humans, things are the mostly the result of human thought and action. From my own experience the individuals, families, organisations and states who are able to successfully make things happen, possess 3 essential traits. Intellectual integrity:  T o conceptualise, study, analyse, formulate strategy, tactics and draw up plans on what, where, why, when, where, who and how of matters. World War II dramatically changed the then existing world order.  Based on three fundamental pillars of democracy, free trade and capitalism, America the only great power that survived the war with its economy and market intact became the de facto world leader of the non communist world. American leadership established this new world order at The Bretton Woods Conference, 1944 . This 'order' based on a number or global institutions ensured under the Marshall plan the rebuilding of the world economy.  American farsightedness and actions produced the greatest material prosperity in history. World GDP has grown 10 fold, population has increased 3 fold, Colonialism ended, and there has been a dramatic reduction in world poverty, with a corresponding improvement in health has been observed. We often hear the terms 'developed countries', 'developing countries' and 'underdeveloped countries'. It has nothing to do with progress or backwardness. It simply means industrially developed or under developed. Why is this significant? Futurist Alvin Toffler in his seminal book  ' The Third Wave '  proposes how humankind developed and evolved in waves from early nomadic people, till today.  Ever wondered why some societies were rich and powerful and now not so?  In the earliest period nomadic leaders and tribes were those who had more livestock and members, to forage, hunt and fight. In the first wave humans moved from being hunter/forager to farming. During this wave the wealthiest and most powerful were those societies that owned and controlled the maximum amount of fertile land. Today societies that are predominantly first wave are amongst the poorest countries because they are seen as the industrially undeveloped economies. ...

What we call education, in most institutions is actually only training. Training, does not require awakening. Even a wild beast can be trained.  After training, one just learns to perform as programmed. A mind trained is easy to drive. It exists to please the trainer, be it right or wrong, moral or immoral. Programming, can make one believe in absurdities, and those who believe in absurdities can commit great atrocities and crimes against not only humans but all of creation. We humans amongst all known creatures have the gift of consciousness and imagination.  We can review the past and imagine the future and the consequences of our thoughts and actions.  A mind merely trained, cannot comprehend the consequences of its thoughts and actions neither the past or of the future. With Coronavirus on the rampage and government ordered lockdown in place, many people are feeling disturbed. They  complain incessantly about the inconvenience. To them I would say, "Nothing can be more inconvenient than death". Here are some sobering facts about COVID-19 Coronavirus's trail of destruction that, at the time of writing this article.
