Do people have ideas or ideas have people?

We humans have always been confused with existence and our life in general, but thanks to an avalanche of information, never has humanity been this confused. Life has become insanely complicated and we know not why. We seem to have so much and yet we feel so hollow inside. In the haze, we wander around struggling to make sense of our lives, maintain sanity and stability.  We look outwards to the exterior of what we can see, touch, smell, hear and taste for answers. We care not or dare not look within where lie answers. Some of us focus on family, others on relationships, some on wealth and others on power and influence, etc. etc. Our unease compelling us to constantly search.  The search for an idea about the meaning of our lives inevitably leads us to various ideologies (a system of ideas and beliefs). Human Resources Destroying Department

Authority without responsibility always leads to dictatorship. A survey of the most detested departments in any organisation will normally reveal four villains.  Human Resources, Administration, Accounts and Security, are indirect departments invested with huge discretionary power and authority, which is significantly disproportionate  to their accountability for overall organisational performance. Rao always felt as if it was his own company and that he belonged there, respected and needed. One day due to some unavoidable circumstances, Rao arrived for work about 30 minutes late, probably the first such lapse in 7 years. The Human Resources depar...

The boss is always right

It was in 1502 that the egoistic mayor of Florence (Italy) Piero Soderini was under great pressure. He had appointed a novice to work on a giant piece of beautiful marble to make a sculpture under his guidance. Typical of many bosses Soderini had overestimated his own capabilities and by drilling a big hole in the middle of the block of marble Soderini and the novice had ruined it. Soderini had to find a solution, and  finally commissioned Michelangelo to do a sculpture . Michelangelo agreed and using the available shape decided to sculpt a young David with a sling in his hand. A few weeks later as the statue was finished, Soderini came to see the sculpture for himself. Soderini was pleased with what he saw. However like many patrons and bosses Soderini had to impose his ideas and have the last word. Soderini instructed Michelangelo to change the shape of the nose because it was too big. Michelangelo grasped the situation immediately realising th...
