  After the disintegration of the Soviet Union and its divorce from its East European allies, Russia believing itself European, tried its hardest to integrate itself with Europe and America. The West purchased many, key Russian technologies, assets and industries in the distressed Russian economy at a huge discount, and positioned themselves to at will exert a vice-like grip on Russia's financial, technological, communications, media etc. sectors. An arrogant America and Europe, the winners of the Cold War, had no place on the high table for Russia. American leader Senator John McCain disparagingly voiced the common thinking of America, that "Russia is a gas station, disguised as a nation" . Americans and Europeans viewed Russia as an old, beleaguered empire to be merely exploited and milked for its wealth.  For past 30 years we have been living in a unipolar world with America being the world's sole superpower which formulates, decides and acts the  way the world should function.  And America intends to keep it that way.  Hegemonies cannot tolerate even the smallest possible challenge to their dominance. So they are always in a state of undeclared war against threats, both real and perceived. They have to constantly weaken potential challengers and even allies have to be brought to heel. Everyone knows that Chinese power seems to be on the ascendant, but one of the biggest potential challengers to American hegemony is the combined power of Russia and Germany. America has watched with dismay and fear as Europe led by Germany has been cozying up to the Russians. German capital and technology combined with Russia's vast resources of oil and gas, raw materials, and fertile land make it a natural marriage almost heavenly.  Europe does not grow enough food to feed itsel...

In all societies, animal or human, communication is so vital, that without it, the society would simply collapse.  We may not realise it but all communication is actually designed to get others to do something.  Why then is it that so much teaching and messaging never gets through and we fail to see any action? Erroneously most people believe that a broadcast is communication. A broadcast is simply the emission or sending a message, whereas communication is a two step process, wherein the broadcast is received and accepted by the recipient.  A broadcast rarely leads to action, whereas a communication has the great possibility to stir emotions and hence lead to action. It is important to remember that,  Thoughts emanate in the mind. If you want thoughts to be enhanced then tickle the mind. Actions emanate from the body and are driven by emotion. World War II dramatically changed the then existing world order.  Based on three fundamental pillars of democracy, free trade and capitalism, America the only great power that survived the war with its economy and market intact became the de facto world leader of the non communist world. American leadership established this new world order at The Bretton Woods Conference, 1944 . This 'order' based on a number or global institutions ensured under the Marshall plan the rebuilding of the world economy.  American farsightedness and actions produced the greatest material prosperity in history. World GDP has grown 10 fold, population has increased 3 fold, Colonialism ended, and there has been a dramatic reduction in world poverty, with a corresponding improvement in health has been observed. The Indo Gangetic Plain is one the most  fertile land in the world, thanks to the rivers that flow down from the Himalayas and the Tibet Plateau . This is why this region evolved naturally to have the highest population densities in the world. Now imagine this all turning to desert.
